HITECH
Optimize your EHR investment
The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act is a part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, which includes $19.2 billion that is intended to increase the use of Electronic Health Records (EHR).
By implementing an EHR solution, rural healthcare organizations and Critical Access Hospitals seeing Medicare patients can receive up to $44,000 in incentives over five years. Plus, an additional 10% is available to those operating in a designated Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA).
How long can I wait?
If you choose not to implement an EMR/EHR solution soon, you should know that additional financial incentives will not be available and penalties will begin in 2015 – including a 1% reduction in Medicare fees each year, up to 3% by 2017.
Take advantage of these incentives today, before it’s too late.
